HEALTH AND SAFETY DEPARTMENT

Safety in a work environment is important because it helps to protect employees, buildings & equipment’s and can keep the costs that an employer has to a minimum. It is important to keep employees safe and to send them home in the same condition in which they came to work.

Al-Mardoof is certified from OSHA 18001 and established a separate department for Safety & Health Administration to its employees. Our Safety Engineers are also certified from OSHA under course outline “Construction Industry Health & Safety (29 CFR 1926)” and “OSHA General Industry Safety and Health (29 CFR 1910)”. Our construction Safety Engineers ensures that construction workers are following established policies and safety regulations. Our Safety Engineers may take an additional roles and responsibilities but their primary job is helping to create safer construction sites. Our Safety Engineers work closely with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Following is the main procedure under OSHA, which our Engineers fallow & implement in the company to minimize accident ratio.

Policy and Regulation Maintenance

Al-Mardoof Safety Department, developed, implement and enforce policies that reduce the risk of accidents. Our safety engineers determine what policies are needed and how to enforce them. Our safety engineers are responsible for keeping policies up to date, meeting the latest standards and establishing new ones from time to time as more and newer risks are discovered.

Site Safety Inspection

We developed site safety inspection system. Our safety engineers are in charge of inspecting site conditions to determine if hazards are present and to establish procedures and policies to overcome those hazardous situations. Our safety engineers look for broken equipment, defective tools and other potential hazards, focusing on worker safety. Al-Mardoof safety engineers also determine what type of personal protective equipment (PPE) is needed and makes sure that workers know how to operate and use tools and equipment.

Accident Investigation

Al-Mardoof safety engineer’s main responsibility is to diminish or eliminate work related accidents. However, if an accident occurs, the safety officer will conduct a safety INVESTIGATION to determine root causes, what procedures may have gone wrong, and to gather the evidence necessary to identify the cause of the accident. Based on investigation results, our safety officer will document findings and recommendations that should be followed to prevent the accident from happening again.

Construction Safety Officer Training

Al-Mardoof also provides training to their employees on safety. Our engineers train all employees and identify special requirements for employees. The safety engineers provide training to employees on safety topics required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). These include equipment handling, fire prevention plans, machine guarding and hazardous materials handling.

Record Keeping

Our safety engineers are also responsible for reviewing and meeting all state and federal safety standard requirements for record-keeping. Injury logs and other documentation is completed and submitted to related government agencies as part of these requirements. The safety engineer also submits the OSHA form 300, which is a summary of all injuries that resulted in lost work time, restricted duties or job transfers. They also ensure that the poster entitled "Job Safety and Health: It's the Law" and other documents are displayed in a conspicuous place in the workplace, as required by OSHA.
